# EVDIR > EVDIR is a directory of public EV charging stations in the United States: > 6,338 stations with 21,797 charging stalls across 23 states and 1,801 cities, > run by 110 charging networks. A further 2,034 site outlets — campground > pedestals, RV hook-ups and wall sockets — are counted as outlets, not stalls. Each station > lists its connector standards, peak charging power, charging stalls, operator and per-kWh > price. Free to browse, no account required. EVDIR does not sell vehicles or electricity. It indexes public charging stations from Open Charge Map and normalises the connector standards, peak power in kW, number of charging stalls, the price per kWh when the network quotes one, and the address. Live stall availability — whether a charger is free right now — is not tracked, and no page claims it. Data as of October 2026. ## Key facts - Coverage: the United States — 23 states, 1,801 cities, 6,338 stations, 21,797 charging stalls and 2,034 site outlets. - Connector standards recorded: J1772 (5,294 stations), CCS1 (930 stations), NACS (517 stations), CHAdeMO (364 stations), Wall outlet (191 stations), NEMA 14-50 (174 stations), NEMA TT-30 (40 stations). - Power: 3,808 stations are Level 2 (under 50 kW), 749 are DC fast (50 kW or more), and 221 reach 150 kW or more. - Price: 3,805 stations quote a per-kWh tariff; the median is $0.35 and 2,465 charge $0.40 or less. Medians by state and by network are on the cost page. - Hours: 3,944 stations are open around the clock. - Cost: free to browse, no account. ## Pages - [Home](https://evdir.com/): search by city, state or ZIP, connector and minimum power; a preview of nearby stations; a connector reference; and the doorway into the full directory. - [Explore EV charging stations](https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations): the whole directory — every station with its connectors, power, price and address, a list of cards beside a map, and filters for connector, minimum power, price per kWh, radius and opening hours. Filtering runs in the browser; the page is static HTML plus one JSON catalog. - Connector guide at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors — one page per connector or outlet type with enough stations to answer the query, with the station count for each: - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors/j1772 (5,294) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors/ccs1 (930) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors/nacs (517) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors/chademo (364) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors/wall-outlet (191) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors/nema-14-50 (174) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/connectors/nema-tt-30 (40) Each hub carries its station count, state and city breakdown, top networks, station cards, charging guidance and FAQ, and links to its state pages and into the directory with the connector applied. Plugs quote charging stalls; outlet types quote stations only, because a campground reports its whole electrical field as one number. - Network guide at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks — one page per network with at least 20 stations, with the station count for each. A station can name more than one network, so these counts overlap and do not sum to the directory: - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/chargepoint (2,825) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/blink (274) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/flo (220) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/jolt (202) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/ev-connect (175) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/tesla-destination (166) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/incharge (125) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/powerflex (76) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/vialynk (76) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/ampup (63) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/red-e (63) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/evgateway (56) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/graviti-energy (43) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/swtch (42) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/noodoe-ev (41) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/evpassport (39) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/wevo-energy (37) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/xeal-energy (34) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/chargesmart-ev (23) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/eos-charge (22) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/networks/evoke (21) Each page carries the network's station and stall counts, states, cities, connector mix, power split, median price, station cards and FAQ, plus a section on the company behind the network — its own account of what it runs, its logo, and a link to its site. The operator figures there are the operator's, not counts from this directory. - Place guide at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places — one page per place type with at least 250 stations, with the station count for each: - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/parking-garage-lot (743) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/workplace (599) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/dealership (594) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/lodging (509) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/school-university (372) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/residential (361) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/shopping-center (307) - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places/street-parking (281) Each page carries the same counts, the connector and power mix, and what the place is good for. - 54 place-by-state pages at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/places// — one per intersection with at least 20 stations. - Speed guide at /explore/ev-charging-stations/speeds — three bands, with the station count for each: - /explore/ev-charging-stations/speeds/level-2 (3,808) - /explore/ev-charging-stations/speeds/dc-fast (749) - /explore/ev-charging-stations/speeds/150-kw (221) - Attribute pages, each a set of records with its own URL and FAQ: - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/24-hour (3,944) — 24-hour charging - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/parking (5,515) — parking information - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/free-parking (4,613) — free parking - https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/rv-parks (180) — RV and campground outlets - Cost guide at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/costs — the median per-kWh price at every station that lists one, grouped by state and by network, with each state's cheapest and dearest tariff, the share of stations at or below $0.40 and the number of stations behind each median. It covers per-kWh tariffs only; session, connection, idle and parking fees are not included. - One cost page per state with a priced station, at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/costs/ — 22 pages, each with the median, the range and the network breakdown for that state. - Location index at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/states — every state page and all 282 city guides on one page, most stations first, with station, stall and city counts for each state. It is the shortest path into the location tree. - One page per state, at https://evdir.com/explore/ev-charging-stations/ — the state name in lower case, hyphens between words. Each page carries that state's station count, stall count, city list, connector counts, median price and its top stations. States with no stations have no page. Cars come from the US catalogue or from a profile the reader adds — a ChatGPT JSON reply or a typed form, validated in the browser — so a model outside the catalogue can be planned. Range starts from the EPA figure, is scaled by the route's average speed and drops 22% in winter mode; charging time uses a taper model; a station with no listed tariff is costed at the national median. - [EV charging cost calculator](https://evdir.com/tools/ev-charging-cost-calculator): what a charge costs, for any of the US models or one the reader adds. Joins the EPA combined miles per kWh to the median listed public tariff of a US state and a home electricity rate the reader sets, and returns the cost of one charge, per 100 miles, per mile and per year. Charging losses are included — about 10% on AC and 5% on DC — so the bill is calculated on metered energy while range comes from battery energy. - [EV connector checker](https://evdir.com/tools/ev-connector-checker): pick a car and a station and it answers twice — AC and fast charging — with fits, needs an adapter, or no. It reads the car's two inlets from the vehicle catalogue and the post's connectors from the station record, and names an adapter only for the pairs that are sold: NACS-to-CCS1, CCS1-to-NACS and NACS-to-J1772. A CHAdeMO car is bridged by nothing. It also totals how much of the directory a car can use as it is and with an adapter. - [Tools hub](https://evdir.com/tools): every interactive tool on the site. ## Electric vehicles - [Electric vehicle guide](https://evdir.com/evs): 108 US models from 36 makes, with connectors, battery, EPA range and DC charging. - https://evdir.com/evs/acura (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/audi (12 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/bmw (6 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/bugatti-rimac (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/cadillac (4 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/chevrolet (4 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/dodge (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/fiat (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/fisker (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/ford (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/genesis (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/gmc (2 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/honda (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/hyundai (5 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/jaguar (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/jeep (2 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/kia (5 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/lexus (2 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/lucid (2 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/maserati (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/mazda (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/mercedes-benz (7 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/mini (2 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/mitsubishi (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/nissan (2 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/polestar (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/porsche (2 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/rivian (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/rolls-royce (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/smart (1 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/subaru (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/tesla (5 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/toyota (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/vinfast (4 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/volkswagen (3 models) - https://evdir.com/evs/volvo (7 models) - One page per model at https://evdir.com/evs//. - [Comparisons](https://evdir.com/evs/compare): 20 side-by-side pages, two cars on the same EPA range, efficiency, 10–80% charging time, boot, towing and running cost, each figure labelled with the version it belongs to. - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/audi/q4-e-tron/vs/volvo/xc40 (288 mi vs 293 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/audi/q6-e-tron/vs/cadillac/lyriq (325 mi vs 326 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/bmw/i4/vs/tesla/model-3 (333 mi vs 363 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/bmw/i5/vs/mercedes-benz/eqe (328 mi vs 302 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/bmw/ix/vs/porsche/macan (364 mi vs 332 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/bmw/ix/vs/tesla/model-x (364 mi vs 352 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/ford/mustang-mach-e/vs/kia/ev6 (320 mi vs 319 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/ford/mustang-mach-e/vs/tesla/model-y (320 mi vs 357 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/genesis/gv60/vs/kia/ev6 (306 mi vs 319 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/hyundai/ioniq-5/vs/kia/ev6 (318 mi vs 319 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/hyundai/ioniq-5/vs/tesla/model-y (318 mi vs 357 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/hyundai/ioniq-5/vs/volkswagen/id-4 (318 mi vs 291 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/hyundai/kona-electric/vs/kia/niro-ev (261 mi vs 253 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/kia/ev6/vs/tesla/model-y (319 mi vs 357 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/kia/ev9/vs/volvo/ex90 (305 mi vs 310 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/nissan/ariya/vs/volkswagen/id-4 (289 mi vs 291 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/polestar/2/vs/tesla/model-3 (314 mi vs 363 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/subaru/solterra/vs/toyota/bz4x (288 mi vs 252 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/tesla/model-y/vs/volkswagen/id-4 (357 mi vs 291 mi) - https://evdir.com/evs/compare/tesla/model-y/vs/volvo/ex60 (357 mi vs 330 mi) ## Guides - [Public EV charging price index (Q4 2026)](https://evdir.com/guides/public-charging-price-index): What public EV charging costs per kWh: the median tariff in every state, the index behind it, and the cheapest state to charge. The long tail of networks below 20 stations, place types below 250, and cities below 5 appears only in the directory filter. - Coverage follows our curation: 23 states are present, others are not. - No live availability or reservation endpoints. The trip planner computes entirely in the browser and cannot see whether a planned stall is free.
